I Love You Through and Through is written by Bernadette Rossetti-Shustak and illustrated by Caroline Jayne Church. It's published by Cartwheel in January of 2005. This is a board book written for babies through preschoolers. It is a rhyming book that discusses feelings, body parts, directions, and actions that young children can recognize. The narrator speaks like a parent or another family member to the child who is the main character in the story.
The narrator begins the story by telling the child how much they love them and then begins to detail different things that he or she loves about the child. They explore the opposites of directions, feelings, body parts, and different actions that the child engages in. In the end, the narrator tells the child that he or she loves them through and through.
This is a very good book for preschool as well as kindergarten. It is very well illustrated and is very effective at teaching opposites to children. For each action such as running, there is an opposite such as standing still; and for each feeling like happy, there is the opposite such as being sad. The illustrations help to deliver the idea in a very engaging and humorous manner.
